Help For Hurricane Harvey Victims

Many people have asked about how to help those suffering the effects of Hurricane Harvey. This information was sent by the Social Action Office of the Diocese of Davenport:

The greatest need is always for dollars.  Dollars to operate shelters, feeding sites, and to keep these supplied.  As the flood waters recede, we move from the emergency response to the recovery phase where there will be a need to fund case workers to work with families.  Case workers can accept donations of goods from commercial organizations (appliances, building materials), or buy them with donated dollars in mass quantities for discounts, and combine these with donated labor from charitable organizations (in which the faith community is most significant) to respond to the individual families’ needs.

You can help relief efforts in wake of Hurricane Harvey by texting CCUSADISASTER to 71777 or click Donate for Harvey Relief.  You can also give by calling 1-800-919-9338 or by mail: PO Box 17066 Baltimore, MD 21297-1066 and put "Hurricane Harvey" in the memo line of the check. Funds raised will go towards Catholic Charities agencies' efforts to assist families and individuals with shelter, food, and other immediate and long-term recovery needs.
