Regina Tanzania Project – Car Wash Fundraiser

Happening this SUNDAY!
April 13 | 12:00–6:00 PM

Location: Hy-Vee on South First Avenue, Iowa City

Come support an amazing cause and get your car washed for a purpose!

The Regina Tanzania Project is a student-led initiative by juniors at Regina High School, working to provide English books and educational support for students in Tanzania.

This project began last August when Regina alum, Jocoa Kerschen (Class of 2018), reached out from the Peace Corps, where he currently teaches at a small school in Tanzania. He shared that Tanzanian students must take a national exam in English—an exam that plays a huge role in determining their future educational opportunities. But for many of these students, access to English literature is incredibly limited.

That’s where Regina students stepped in. Through book drives and fundraisers, they’ve already made an impact, and now they’re inviting the wider community to join them in this mission.

How You Can Help:

  • Come to the car wash SUNDAY from 12–6 PM at the South First Avenue Hy-Vee in Iowa City.

  • Donate what you can – all proceeds go toward shipping books and funding classroom resources for the Tanzanian students.

  • Spread the word! Share this event with friends, family, and neighbors.

Together, let’s help open doors of opportunity through education and literacy.
Every car washed brings us one step closer to a brighter future for these kids.
