Spiritual Direction: Growing in the Spirit

At different moments in life—whether in the busyness of family life, times of transition, or simply a desire to grow—many of us begin to ask deeper questions:

Where is God in my life right now?
How do I listen for His voice?
What is He inviting me into next?

The practice of Spiritual Direction is an ancient one in the Church. It offers a space to slow down, reflect, and become more attentive to the movement of the Holy Spirit in everyday life. But what exactly is it? How does it differ from other forms of ministry? And who might benefit from it?

Join Stephen Ministry for a conversation with STM parishioners Laurie Harris, Kim Novak, and Tracy Lees as we explore how Spiritual Direction can accompany people of all ages and stages—whether you are discerning next steps, seeking clarity, navigating change, or simply desiring a deeper awareness of God’s presence.

Laurie Harris and Kim Novak have completed their three-year Spiritual Direction training through the Franciscan Spirituality Center in La Crosse, WI, and currently serve individuals in the Iowa City/Coralville area. Tracy Lees is entering her third year of formation at FSC.
