Sister Helen Prejean and Becoming a Voice for Justice

Sister Helen Prejean is speaking via zoom, to students, community members, parishioners and social justice activists on Oct 21st. Would you be interested in hosting small pods of no more than 10 in the location of your choice or come to St Thomas More for this event? As the host you would pick a place, invite your guests and use your computer to join the Zoom meeting and facilitate questions from our group to Sister Helen. The live stream event "Becoming a Voice for Justice” is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21 at 6:30 to 7:30pm. There will also be an Outdoor Movie Event, “Dead Man Walking" on Friday, October 9th at 7pm behind the Newman Center. Both events are free thanks to the sponsorship of the Louise Wolf-Novak Service and Social Justice Endowment. Registration is open for the free events at www.iowa catholic.org. Due to COVID guidelines, the outdoor movie tickets are limited.
Sister Helen is a dynamic speaker and storyteller about activism, solidarity and justice. She gives voice to the voiceless, advocates for the abolishment of capital punishment and working for justice. As our society struggles to come to terms with the racial, social and economic inequality the timing could not be better.
