---Now please give your attention to a member of our social justice commission:
Good evening/morning, fellow parishioners,
We thank God that we have enough money to feed our families. How sad itis for those families who are less fortunate. The Social Justice Commission wants to do something to help those in need and we are asking you to join us.
We are collaborating with Bread for the World to urge U.S. decision makers to do all they can to eradicate child hunger in the United States and around the world. How can you help? We are asking you to write a postcard or send an email to our state representatives in congress urging them to;
Protect, restore and secure funding for global nutrition programs including those run by Catholic Relief Services and Fully fund the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, WIC. We’re providing you with some tools to make it easy. To send an email to all 3 of your representatives in congress, just scan the QR Code on this week’s bulletin insert (hold up for all to see). Don’t know how to use a QR code? Just ask your teenage son or daughter. Please list St. Thomas More Parish where it asks for your organization.
Pre-addressed postcards will be available after all masses if you choose to write a hand-written note (hold up postcard). Postcards can be completed right after mass in the designated classroom (point to classroom) or you may take one home with you. Letter writing tips and sample phrases can also be found on the back of your bulletin insert (hold up back of bulletin insert). Please return all postcards to church next weekend so that they can be blessed by Fr. Chuck before we mail them. God bless you and thank you for your time and your consideration.
